Train master: WALLY rail line a ‘go’

The planned Washtenaw and Livingston Line between Howell and Ann Arbor is an “unquestionable go,” a representative of Great Lakes Central Railroad said.

Proponents of the $32 million-plus rail line continue to scramble for funding sources to get WALLY up and running.

The state has already invested considerably in both rail-line improvements and refurbishing train cars for WALLY, said Chris Bagwell, train master for the Great Lakes Central Railroad.

“Too much has already been invested in it to let it loose, and that’s where it’s at right now,” Bagwell said.
