Coming on the heels of the exciting announcements of the high-speed rail funding, we should have a lot to talk about. While the funding coming to Michigan at this time is disappointing, there is much to be celebrated in the fact that Battle Creek, Dearborn and Birmingham/Troy will soon have stations much more attractive to the 21st century traveler and that Midwest projects received more than $2.5 billion of the $8 billion awarded!

We will have a presentation by Lisa Wozniak, Executive Director of the Michigan League of Conservation Voters on how we can build the strength of our organization and work with other organizations to excercise our collective clout in bring influence to bear on the issues that are important to us. Lisa will share techniques and insights that will help us better our carry out our responsibilities as an advocacy organization.

This is a meeting not to miss! Hope to see you there.

NOTE: The meeting venue has been moved to Daryls from the Amtrak station as announced earlier in The Michigan Passenger. Daryls is located about 3 blocks from the Jackson Amtrak station.
